Annlady Jorge
THERAPIST
Annlady Jorge is a native New Yorker born to Dominican parents. She was born and raised in Inwood and spent her childhood summers in the Dominican Republic. Annlady joined Chances for Children as a Therapist in December 2023 and is excited to continue her journey in clinical work with young children and families. Annlady believes deeply in the power of relationships and that the relationship between a caregiver and their child has the power to be transformational for their lives. Annlady is dedicated to using strengths-based and collaborative approaches in her work with families and is continuing this work at Chances for Children.
Annlady has worked with children and families across various settings. She began her journey as student in New York University’s Applied Psychology program, where she interned at the NYU Child Study Center and learned about mood and anxiety disorders in children. Annlady studied parent-child interaction therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) adapted for children with selective mutism before joining the Center for Early Childhood Health and Development at NYU. There, Annlady partnered with early childhood centers across the city to support social emotional learning in classrooms and parenting support for caregivers. Prior to joining Chances for Children, Annlady was an early childhood social worker at the Manny Cantor Center supporting social emotional learning of infants and toddlers in the classroom as well as supporting infant and toddler movement and content-based groups.
Annlady received her master’s degrees in Infant and Family Development and Early Intervention from Bank Street College and the Silberman School of Social Work. In her spare time, Annlady enjoys spending time with her loved ones, dancing, biking, and trying new foods.
